I don’t get the whole “clowns are scary” thing. They’re just guys in funny outfits and silly face paint performing lighthearted physical comedy for your entertainment. I’m not trying to sound like Sergent Manly McTestosteroneforblood, I have plenty of stupid fears, I’m just saying I don’t understand why the evil clown trope is SO widespread, to the point where actual genuine clowns have practically died out. Soon enough new generations will not even remember a time when clowns weren’t just a stock horror villain and they won’t understand the underlying juxtaposition of evil-clowns in the first place.
