Guys the reason he kept falling was because his body was weakening. If you read the lore, “Mortals who dare to venture to these dismal shores will slowly have their life force stolen away from them.” So this kid was already dying when he left the barrier to chase after dad.
His final fall was actually symbolic of him dying I think. And because the isles traps your soul, he doesn’t realise that.

@ExelArts The wards that keep the black mist at bay. In the beginning he refills the ward and the protection bubble is refreshed. I thought he was stupid for leaving it, his moms was right he wasnt ready. When he dropped the lantern with the rest of his golden liquid, I knew it was over.
also, if you listen closely, you can hear the sound byte of Thresh’s hook landing (taken directly from the regular league game) and before he falls you see Thresh winding up his hook
I love how even if Thresh already killed the guy, let him reach the boat, and then crushed their hope, now this is evilness.

@Amazekeen no the mist are reaching “further” across the water. The wards are to keep the mist from spreading to the land. So they have to keep getting re lit every so often.
