Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes – Travis Strikes Out (Jimpressions)

Words like “repetitive” and “bland” should never really be associated with a Grasshopper game, but Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is a sadly repetitive and bland affair.

A humdrum spinoff of No More Heroes, this self referential mundanity is a far cry from what makes Suda51’s work stand out.

  1. Oooooh…. Not a liver?

  2. it never really looked promising and judging from what im seeing it isnt that great

  3. This makes me profoundly sad.

  4. I’m a lover of the franchise, and a die hard fan of the first two. This isn’t No More Heroes III.
This game might be decent, but the visual offer is like they finished a game they started making for the Wii. And arcade isometric view wise.. at the age of Ruiner and Furi, Suda could have done better.

  5. Suda 51 should just have Nintendo finance their 3rd game.

  6. I actually thought they canceled this one
By the looks of it they probably should’ve

  7. Holding a future game to randsom with the thread of cancellation if you do not buy the new, mediocre game is absolute BS and I will never support it.
I’ll buy a product if I want to buy the product. I’m not going to spend money in the hopes of sending a message that I want more.

I am not going to eat at a restaurant that demands I eat a bucket of wallpaper paste before it lets me have my steak. Just gimme the damn steak!

  8. It would of been more interesting if Travis went through actual Indie games like Hotline Miami.

  9. I’ve never played a No More Heroes game, but now that I have a switch, I was really looking forward to trying one. Guess I’ll just have to keep waiting. Honestly I probably would’ve preferred they just put NMH 1 and 2 on switch instead of whatever this is

  10. “Buy this or no NMH3!”

Well okay, goodbye to that series then. So what?

  11. Definitely No More Heroes after this game.

  12. WARNING: When Jim says he’d rather talk about Duckula than this game, he is NOT joking.

  13. Count Duckula analysis… christ I love you Jim.

  14. If they wanted something either for funds or to gauge interest, should have just did a No More Heroes 1 and 2 HD remaster collection on Switch, hell they already have HD assets they could use for that because of the PS3 version of the first NMH. Better than giving us a mediocre low budgeted game then telling us it needs to sell if we want a NMH3 like Suda did at the very least.

  15. “The new No More Heroes is a love letter to tons of great games you should play instead” – A.V Club

  16. I completely agree with Jim on the cheekiness of good content being leveraged.

“Buy this game to prove there’s interest for No More Heroes 3.”

Um, no? This game is nothing like No More Heroes, defeating the logic behind that. An apt gauge of interest, if one must happen, would be to release a NMH 1/2 remaster instead.

  17. I feel like if they wanted to gauge interest in No More Heroes, they should have re-released the wii games on Switch, maybe in a bundle like Bayonetta 1 and 2. Would have been about the same amount of effort.

  18. Phoenix Bradberton

Still less of a disappointment then Fallout 76

  19. This looks like a minigame hidden in no more heroes 2

  20. Anyone else legit think this was a mobile game at first?
