Star Wars Battlefront II Sells Over 7 Million Copies As ‘Live Services’ Take The Spotlight

Earlier it was reported BFII shipped nine million units, a million behind projections. The report direct from EA has more solid figures – 8 million sales were projected, but BFII underperformed by “less than a million.”

The report itself reveals some future plans, and further emphasizes EA’s commitment to “live services,” the glossy name publishers have given that old and suspect “games-as-service” term.

Whatever the name, it means the same – money, money, money!

  1. I left Fredrik Knudson’s first video on Digital Homicide for this one.
In a way, one Jim Sterling related video onto another.
    Seriously, check out his channel.

  2. They only made HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars. Sad! Microtransactions are clearly necessary if Wilson wants his new boat to have extra diamonds! 🙁

  3. “I’m not rich; I’m EA.”
    *(rolls eyes)* Ok…

  4. Meanwhile Oddesey, a MUCH better game outsells Battlefront II

  5. The first video made me very sad, but this one gave me a major depressive disorder. EA wont be having pudding for Christmas dinner this year.

  6. Apparently this afternoon’s video wants to take forever to be available in HD. YouTube, winning once again!

  7. You know what this means. Time to shut down some developers.

  8. This is so sad. I feel bad for them. 7 million copies just isn’t enough for little Timmy’s leg 🙁
I am glad you apologized, it takes a true man to apologize for ruining Andrew Wilson’s lively hood and company, and taking a part of killing little Timmy. But your actions still have caused consequences, and hopefully, now that you have learned from them, you promote and buy every single game EA releases in the future, they might just forgive you then. But that doesn’t fix the whole you left in Andrews heart for killing little Timmy, and no amount of lootboxes can fill that hole.

  9. It should have been less

  10. So little Jimmy couldn’t buy his second yacht but couldn’t also get the party he wanted? What a shame!

  11. Here’s to the death of EA.

  12. if only little timmy would have unboxed the rare lifesaving surgery from the hospital crate, instead he just got a bunch of duplicates

  13. It’s not a “Game” anymore, it’s an “Experience” – and that will cost you money for the “Service”… enjoy the “Experience”…

  14. Employees of Bioware are should really start looking for new jobs now.

  15. There's a starman waiting in the sky

I’m surprised it even sold a 100 copies. I’m glad people aren’t putting up with EA’s shit especially with their lootboxes or as I like to call them, scamboxes.

  16. MeowAlien にゃあエイリアン

MHW should’ve sold more copy by now, and it was not even released on PC yet, damn

  17. *sigh* Well, Little Timmy, guess it’s time to lead you behind the shed and put you down. :'( Sorry, EA can’t afford you. Much like all those other devel- err, I mean, orphans.

  18. “New mobile games built around fan favourite IP…”

    They’re going to release a free-to-play Burnout game, aren’t they? ?

  19. Every single person that downvoted EA’s reply on Reddit is complicit in little Timmy’s death. The goal of EA’s content is always-
