Anthem continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons, mostly because it’s another “live service” game so bereft of compelling content, it’s more fun to mock than play.
All the game’s dedicated players want is better loot drops, but Bioware and EA seem reluctant to provide. This is on purpose, because games don’t have to be good. They just need to generate engagement.

Bah, Anthem. Wish it would go away already.
It’s an EA game. Has anyone expected anything rewarding?
I always forget this game is even out and I think there’s a good reason for that.
People just need to leave Anthem to die. It sucks to see BioWare get dumpstered by EA, but the reality is that Anthem is always going to be designed in an exploitative, anti-consumer manner. Better to support quality games (even actual Early Access games like Risk of Rain 2) than waste time and money on this mess.
A live service game, without actual live service
Good job, EA.
they’re masterworks all, you can’t go wrong
ghjkldg I didn’t even get to the end of the video
Bioware signed their soul away when they signed on with EA.
I love that BioWare literally *accidentally* made the game fun, then hurriedly fixed it when people were finally having positive opinions.
Patiently waiting for Borderlands 3 to blow this garbage out of the water…
Anthem is proof that Dying Disservices cannot afford to be “fun” or “rewarding” because then it would cut into the money they would make off of selling players good loot through microtransactions. Easiest solution: Don’t buy Anthem. Don’t play it, ever.
I knew I recognized that voice. Damn you Dragon’s Dogma! 😀
Can we talk about “why are gamers falling for this”? This game and Fallout 76 looked outright bad before release. Yet gamers bought in the millions? I hate to pull a Blizzard but “Don’t you have eyes?”
Only EA could produce a game where being fun was a bug.
“Master works all, can’t go wrong.” Why can’t they make a second Dragon’s Dogma???
It’s been said before and it’s worth saying again; Anthem is a poor man’s Warframe that costs more.
Anthem IS a problem.
It’s existence and people’s willingness to buy and play it without expecting better IS a problem.
Games being fun is now a bug, because you’re only supposed to have fun briefly after paying $20 for a discrete dose of “accomplishment”.
