The candy cadet story is a parallel to the plot of the game where the mimic is the monster literally in the basement who learns the “lullaby” being Gregory’s voice and Cassie goes “opens the door” to the basement being the security nodes and frees it. Then the story ends because the you haven’t gotten far enough in the game yet because it’s just before you go down
What happens if you don’t follow Gregory’s directions at the end???

Aa part of me wonders what the static cuts out. Gregory says “My friend has access to the building maps. Just follow – instructions.”. Who is the friend he’s referring to? Freddy? Also, when he’s giving directions – there’s a turn you can take to get anther secret ending – the opposite of what Gregory tells you. So I wonder if all the instructions were from Gregory or another ploy by the Mimic? What if it was the mimic that convinced her to go to the elevator just to drop her and kill her?
I do like they tried to make it scarier but it leaves more questions than any answers imo.
