There is a new Crazy Taxi, and Sega promises it will be “AAA” as if that’s some sort of selling point. They should be comparing its scope and quality to a game like Pacific Drive, because real ambition will beat “AAA” ambition every time.

Triple A? More like triple A-trocity
Oh I don’t know, triple A in scope tells me quite a lot.
It tells me it’ll launch for £70, that it’ll have enough editions to warrant a spreadsheet to understand what they are, it’ll have 16 dlc taxis for £20 each and it’ll probably need an online connection meaning you won’t be able to log onto the server for the first 2 weeks of launch.
Triple A is no longer a promise, it’s a threat.
If Stephanie is sick of survival games, then does that mean they won’t be trying out Palworld? I know that it’s technically a Pokemon clone, but it’s ALSO a survival game!

The biggest reason I don’t like survival games is having to deal with hunger. I already deal with that irl, why would I want to have to deal with it in a video game
Upon hearing that headline, I got the impression that the point of calling it “AAA in scope” was meant to say “not a mobile game” and/or “fully supported”. Basically, trying to elicit the opposite of the reaction series fans had to Diablo Immortal and Command & Conquer Mobile (whatever it’s actually called). I don’t think they meant “guaranteed to be good”.

It occurs to me that I might have a distaste for corporate and Manipulative pop music. Don’t get me started on Steps.
But if you’re enjoying Pacific Drive, then I’m happy for you. And Thank the Light for Treguard of Dunshelm. After all, it’s only a game, until it isn’t… Actually why HAS nobody done a Fantasy Horror movie based on Castle Knightmare? Probably because it’d take a Hollywood Budget to do it right.

My videos for the audiobook Roadside Picnic have been getting a fair bit of traffic from the game Pacific Drive. I checked it out and it looks pretty good. I might have to pick the game up.
“AAA” is the vibe of being a child and excited about a big new game everyone’s talking about.

So they’re gonna sell us Crazy Taxi for 70 bucks and make us play Grandmother’s Footsteps for some farted out side quest amongst multitudes of collectibles and side quests masquerading as meaningful content
I had Pacific Drive on my wishlist for a couple months, then it came out with those minimum specs. W E L P.
I’d be down for Crazy Taxi with a GTA sized map, but that’s it. I don’t need a story mode, I don’t need side missions, I don’t need collectibles. Just high speed driving mechanics and a map full of customers to take from point A to B on loop while a rockin’ soundtrack is blasted into my ears.
Two thoughts crossed my mind when I heard about the new Crazy Taxi game being AAA.
1) So is this gonna have less content than the original Crazy Taxi?
2) Oh god they are probably gonna fuck up Jet Set Radio too.
Right.
