17:28 As a Souls-like/Soulsborn player, I encounter this Phenomena quite often with some of the bosses, so far ive narrowed down the cause of it to the belief of “I’ve gotten this far, so I CAN and should reach the same point again” and from that arrogance/Confidence, your mind Precives only what to do for that next part, leaving you to momentarily forget how you got there in the first place, your mind Simply believing it as “Simple” and not remembering how to do it…
The only known way that ive found to fix this Phenomenon is to stop thinking about the part you messed up on and continue from where you started, learning the Movement needed along the way, Like Memorizing Move sets in a Souls-like….

I think this genre could benefit from a playground. A place set aside with a few select objects that allow you to practice all the different types of jumps and distances that you’ll need to master throughout the core gameplay, so when you reach a point that takes forever to get back to, you can practice that specific jump you failed in the playground so you are more ready when you get back.
Alternatively, they could add a way to copy what’s on screen to a practice arena that you can teleport to and from at will.
