The Procession To Calvary – A Classical Classic (Jimpressions)

Originally released in 2020 and finally stumbled upon by James Stephanie Sterling in 2022, The Procession to Cavalry has very quickly become one of my favorite games.

Seriously, I love this special little adventure game. Funny, ridiculous, and visually creative, I can’t praise it enough.

  1. This game is great and is such a gem to find on gamepass

  2. Anything endorsed by both Jim Stephanie Sterling and Ashens is bound to be good

  3. Mauricio Betim Paes Leme

The visual style and how it portrays the suffering that happened on those days via how the paintings that were made back then is enough to make me buy it on steam!

  4. I loved this game when it came out (and Four Last Things which I think is a prequel? Nope, just checked, it was legit released in 2017, I just played them in the wrong order). I agree 100% on the fonts (thought about making a video but I already have one on dyslexia fonts so…it seemed redundant), but I mean, it’s still amazing! I was so excited when my notifications told me you had released this video talking about it (and that you loved it). Play Four Last Things if you want to continue the joy. Having played this one does not at all ruin that experience (to the point where I didn’t know which came first).

  5. I’m so glad JSS discovered this gem! It truly is a fantastic game, as is its predecessor.

  6. “But it’s just an asset flip!”
Game looks interesting, may have to check it out at some point. Who doesn’t love some classical torture methods?

  7. I love this style of painting. So bizarre and grotesque. Please tell me there are ugly babies and weird cats as well.

  8. Now THIS is how you do an asset flip.

But seriously, I played this a while back, thanks to gamepass, and it’s genuinely wonderful.

  9. Smells like Gillian McKeith's Tupperware Cupboard

I love this game, I enjoy walking around slapping everyone in the face to see their responses.

  10. I was considering playing this as the animation looks hilarious. After seeing this video, guaranteed I will play this now.

  11. This is actually a sequel to a game called “Four Last Things” which came out in 2017 and a third (and apparently last game) has been announced by the developer.
I’m really glad this series is getting some well deserved attention. As far as I can tell they’re all made by one guy and I think the visuals, creativity and humour in these games are impeccable.

  12. You know, I feel like we need more reviews for games that are a couple of years old. Sometimes we all miss good games, and it’s nice to have someone to say “Oi! Look at this fun game I found. Play it.”

  13. This game gives me a lot of the same energy that the cutscenes from the Rock of Ages games did.

  14. I picked this up in a recent sale and i feckin’ loved it. Laughed my tits off at times and the ‘alternative’ to solving puzzles for one of the endings was great fun!

  15. I absolutely LOVED this game. Had me laughing with very Monty Python styled humour
