The Legend of Zelda: BoTW Angry Review

*Sorry for all the delays! Thanks for all your support guys! This is the 7th version we’ve tried so far – Someone needs to teach Nintendo Japan about Fair Use! I’m sure this will get claimed eventually which we will fight as much as we can*

LinkJoe is here to save the beautiful Zelda! How do the Joe’s like one of the highest rated games of ALL-TIME! Is it truly the 10/10 many have scored it? Find out!

  1. In the comments section, I see a lot more people hating on Nintendo fans than Nintendo fans complaining about the score. I have barely seen anyone complaining but plenty of weak-minded individuals hating on Nintendo fans. Do you pathetic human beings seriously have nothing better to do with your lives?

  2. Bill I Did Not Bang That Woman Clinton

And now I wait for your Horizon review….

  3. Feraligatorade 1999

The opening skit should have been link sliding off a mountain he was just about to finish climbing because rain.

  4. I want this game but not the switch…

  5. The comments section in a nutshell

    “This game is pretty good”
“This game is overrated and you’re an idiot if you disagree”
    “Witcher 3 is better”
    “Excuuuuse me princess”

  6. nintendo: *claims joes vid*
    joe: well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me! NINTENDOH!

also other joe makes excelent zelda

  7. “Is this the Ganon everyone thinks so much of?”
“I really wish Link had more personality to him.”

Joe needs to play Wind Waker, lol. He REALLY needs to play Wind Waker.

  8. I don’t know if you found it, but in the castle you can find Zelda’s diary were she has written a little bit about Link. It says: Bit by bit, I’ve gotten Link to open up to me. It turns out he’s quite a glutton. He can’t resist a delicious meal. When I finally got around to ask why he’s so quiet all the time, I could tell it was difficult for him to say. But he did. With so much as stake, and so many eyes upon him, he feels it necessary to stay strong and to silently bear any burden. A feeling I know all to well. For him, it has caused him to stop outwardly expressing his thoughts and feelings.

It might have helped more if it was shown and not hidden in a book, but there you go =P
Also, seeing how you really liked Breath of the Wild, I recommend Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword if you want to play more Legend of Zelda games 🙂

  9. Just because Nintendo didn’t manually take this video down at 250k views I’m going to buy a Nintendo Switch and a copy of this game

  10. Better watch it now before it gets taken down by Nintendo

  11. A Time For Wolves

The Master Sword breaks?! Fuck off with that bullshit.

  12. Joe review Horizon Zero Dawn, it’s rich story and gameplay will have you hooked

  13. As lifelong zelda fan, I’m surprised at how much I agree with Joe on this. I completely understand his reasoning for giving this a 9/10 since he likes more story driven games and every negative aspect he mentioned was justified. And lets be honest nintendo fans, BoTW’s story is a joke compared to games like The Witcher 3, Uncharted 4, and even previous zelda titles. However, zelda games are more about the atmosphere and tone rather than the story, and that’s what has always made up for the lack of/mediocre stories, something they’ve done an amazing job at in other zelda titles. BoTW has a lot of atmosphere, but the tone of the game is completely ruined in some parts. I’m glad Joe mentioned Death mountain because I couldn’t agree more with everything he said there. He doesn’t realize it, but this is probably the best comparison to previous titles since Death mountain and the Gorons can be viewed as the biggest disappointment. Ocarina of time and twilight princess (the only other zelda titles with Gorons living on Death mountain) did it way better. In Ocarina, Gorons were introduced as a strong and fierce yet friendly and lovable race. It’s implied that they are slightly less intelligent than humans but they have a lot of pride and can be stubborn. This is shown more in twilight princess when they are enemies to the hylians at first. You definitely get a sense of how strong they are when you first attempt to ascend Death Mountain and get easily trampled by just one of them. Then BoTW ruined them. Yunobo is one of the worst characters in any Zelda game. They try to make him funny and quirky, by contrasting him with Daruk, a much better example of what gorons used to be like, but this completely fails since the rest of the Goron’s and Goron City are pretty goofy and just weird. It makes you wonder if it’s supposed to be taken seriously or if it’s a joke but either way it was done poorly. Goron City itself was ruined by the goofy and almost cringeworthy music. Like Joe mentioned, the music could be inconsistent at times. Especially Death mountain since the Gorons and the music didn’t fit well at all with the environment. Koji Kondo knew how it was done with Goron City in Ocarina. The music fit the Gorons almost perfectly and went well with the tone and atmosphere. It was a perfect contrast to the inside of Death Mountain for a more lively environment but it still felt like you were in a dangerous area. Even though BoTW had some good tracks. Ocarina had a much better soundtrack overall because it was all consistent and fit with the tone and atmosphere.

I miss when the tone and atmosphere of zelda was mostly about being in a peaceful lively world with many quirky and interesting character (not goofy and over the top) that could still be taken seriously, and exploring a variety of dungeons with an ominous feeling to them. Then the conflict is a major contrast (not contradiction) to the rest of the world. If this is what sets up the tone for a zelda game, then The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine did it better. Ocarina of time did this especially well and made Ganon a way better antagonist and gave you more of the feeling of an enemy presence that Joe mentoined BoTW had a lack of.

As for Joe, if you’re reading this, try out Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. While the gameplay might not be as groundbreaking as BoTW, they have better stories and it would give you a better sense of what made Zelda so popular in the first place with the creativity and atmosphere of the dungeons and the variety of enemies. Ocarina is mostly about the atmosphere and dungeons and Majora’s Mask (My favorite) has more of the really bizarre characters and plot points but it’s all taken seriously. I mean the freakin main conflict that the game is centered around is that a Skull Kid stole an ancient mask used for powerful hexing rituals and is now tormenting people with it and plans to destroy the world by making the moon fall in just three days. It’s bizarre and weird yet brilliant and horrifying. Just look up the moon in Majora’s Mask and that’s what is staring down at you through the whole game so you’re constantly being reminded about the enemy presence because of the three day cycle. It also has the best story IMO because there are many side missions where you help people who are affected by Skull kid.

  14. I’m actually excited to see the AJS review a Nintendo game for a change! I really, REALLY hope this doesn’t get taken down.

  15. no matter what Witcher 3 is still the best…

  16. This is the review I’ve been looking for. A solid review by someone who isn’t a huge Zelda fan.

  17. Ha great review Joe. To everyone that loves this game just do that. Love it. Let the haters that don’t have it hate. Feel sorry for the tiny minority that have it and still don’t like it. Can’t win them all!

  18. Personally i liked the weapon’s breaking, it becomes less annoying towards the end, but i always found that usually just around the corner there was some cooler weapons to loot than the ones i just broke, it also allows you to try all the types of weapons instead of just picking one and sticking with it.
Just my opinion but i can understand people complaining about it fully.

  19. One thing I have noticed since this game came out with all the praise that this game has gotten that a lot of people want Nintendo to fail to a ridiculous degree. Let me put it like this, a 10/10 or 9/10 game gets released on PS4 or XBONE and mostly everybody are like “Good, that game is awesome!” Nintendo does it and almost everybody goes “Fuck Nintendo and there stupid kiddy nostalgia ridden bullshit” 1. How can anybody be critical of Nintendo making games from their older franchises while some of the most looked forward to titles for the PS4 are more games in franchises that are a decade or older like Uncharted, Marvel vs Capcom, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy (which is even worse because their title is a remake that came out 20 fucking years ago) The N-Sane Trilogy (Remasters for games that came out 18-21 years ago). Then there is the kiddy argument. Look at Disney or Pixar, just because something is made with a younger audience in mind doesn’t mean it can’t be enjoyed by all audiences. Also, strictly only playing those games that are “Darker and meant for an older audience” You miss out on some of the best games in my opinion like most Mario games, Ratchet and Clank games, Donkey Kong Country series, or even going back to the classics like the Banjo Kazooie games. Not playing any of these games because they are “kiddy” is just ridiculous

  20. Must be hard being a reviewer XD

8/10 “fuck you! You don’t know shit about good video games!”

9/10 “oh! Your review is so honest and in depth! Truly a great opinion”

10/10 “oh just stop sucking the games dick already, we get it. It’s a good game”
