Is it weird that I find some of the character designs (like the phycopath) to actually be good enough for a fire emblem game?
It’s a mix of “Fire emblem” for GBA and “Awakening” for 3ds.

See. If you just said that from the beginning, like where you wanted to take this and why, then I could’ve easily answered you from the start. But it’s hard to guess the thought process behind that question. But umm anyways, some metals/materials like say rune in some RPGs don’t really exist since it’s kind of a fictional material. And since FE is an medieval anime RPG, you can see where I’m going with this.
But since it’s based on medieval times, they’ve got the basic standard bronze, iron and steel. Dunno if more metals were used/discovered in actual medieval times. But these are the materials that are used for their weaponries in FE. They also use Silver which is one step above Steel. And that’s about it as far as like standard weapon creation goes. Otherwise, there’s lots of specialty weapons (like magic enchanted swords) or legendary weapons (like Ragnell). For armors, it’s hard to tell since you can’t ever build armor equipments. But if I had to guess, they maybe use the same materials as their weapons. So I’d guess maybe Steel or Silver. But the strongest armor ever so far was the Black Knight’s, but that’s also because he had his armor enchanted by the goddess, so only Ragnell or Alondite or Goddess Enchanted weapons can damage him.
But if you were wondering about something like alloy or titanium or platinum or even adamantine (diamond), then nope. No such thing exists in Fire Emblem.
PedoBearNomsLoli surely those metals aren’t that heavy..? Would it not be possible to create lightweight armor that still has some durability?

Uh, what? FE4? Genealogy of the Holy War? Are you sure you got your number right? Because most old fans consider FE4 to be one of, if not THE best Fire Emblem games in the series (up there with Radiant Dawn). Are you sure you wern’t talking about Mystery of the Emblem or Thracia 776? Those aren’t nearly as revered. Genealogy is sort of the gold standard for older players.
Genealogy of the Holy War is a really good game, and a lot of people do consider it their favorite. That being said, I will not stand for any unjust hating of Awakening. You may feel free to use Fates as a punching bag instead because at least in Awakening, the child units make sense to the plot and aren’t an afterthought like Fates’ “You were raised in a dimension where time flows faster” excuse for how the kids are all suddenly like 4 years at most younger than their parents.
FE4 didn’t aged that well gameplay-wise tbh.

More like a mix of ike and lyn. My two favorites.
I wouldn’t specifically because she has Roy syndrome and hasn’t promoted with only 5 maps to go. Man Binding Blade did Roy dirty. There is a reason why he is considered to be the worst Fire Emblem lord and that is it.
Now get ready for depressing character endings such as:
– Dies a couple years later from illness!
– Becomes a terrible parent!
– Disappears never to be seen again!
– Gets stuck in an unstable, and frankly bizarre marriage!
– Meets the love of their life again as enemies on the battlefield!
– Eventually becomes a witch!
– Cannot actually marry due to their different social status!
– Marries (but not to your OTP)
My favourite is from FE 3/12. We get stellar ones like:
Throws his life on the battlefield, hoping to die.
Leaves her kingdom to find her lover
Gets locked away for centuries
and many more!
– “Eventually becomes a witch!”
Sonya deserved so much better

I really enjoyed that Joshua-esque character cx I love fire emblem, but this just about sums up most of the games cx
Alex Trin Ugh, yeah, reviewers do that a lot, particularly with God of War and Devil May Cry. Where reviewers act like the old games should be buried and forgotten because they prefer the reboot. Still both sides play the victim card like acting like IntSys doesn’t care about anything pre-3DS when Awakening and Fates are crammed with pre-3DS references, they made a remake of FE2, and Lyn has 5 versions in Heroes. 3DS fans also play victim when a “elitist” makes fun or hates on the subpar plot or when people ask for spin-offs to not overwhelmingly have 3DS related content. I mean people are not doing it out of malice but because they feel IntSys, Koei Tecmo or ATLUS screwed up.
No way this hit the nail on the head dude. Trust me, back in the old days this is basically exactly what the veteran fans bitched about. Nobody ever said FE had a good plot or good writing. They just said the old games have BETTER writing than SOME of the newer ones

Pegasus Knights might not be the greatest, but anyone who’s played Awakening knows that Dark Fliers have the most OP skill in the game, Galeforce.
Fates made them pretty nice
except Pegs are one of the best classes in literally every game they’re in aside from RD so lol
