I’ll bet there is a way you can go all the way back to the beginning for a “happier” ending.
33:22 I’ve been doing some lore research into the game while waiting for this upload, and I think I can answer some of those questions for you. That giant monster at the base of the crater is known as the “Crater Queen” and it was created from a repurposed chunk of the Genesis Wall (The source of almost all life in the game your character included). All of the strange abominations you encounter in the crater (with the exception of the parasite) are the spawn of the Crater Queen. The Crater Queen still retains its life-giving properties despite being removed from the wall, giving it the ability to manipulate biomass into horrible abominations that could never exist otherwise.

Now that I’ve seen this messed up ending, I have no desire to play.
The ending ruined this game for me 8 years of development only got 6 hrs gameplay no lore nothing just thrown into it which was cool but I wanted some explanation and lore and the character deserved a better ending absolutely loved the art work and the world but more could have done with a better ending
interesting game but i dislike endings like that, where it feels like it’s not finished. maybe more will be discovered as people play it
