  1. This is making the bland list for sure.

  2. Microsoft and Ubisoft loves their EEEEEEEHHHHH-esque games…

  3. Honestly it looks fun. But I keep thinking “Why is it minecraft?!” And I’m glad I’m not alone

    • There is some rumors going about an upcoming feature witch is costume dungeons !

    • “Ah yes, I like money”

    • It is very fun to play (at least for me), but you do feel a sense of “why is this Minecraft?” the whole time you’re playing…

    • @Under Hero No, I’m an adult and I love Minecraft.

My point is this game specifically is branded with minecraft because money. It isn’t any deeper than that. Kids are by far the biggest demographic that play minecraft and this game is designed for them and marketed at them. That’s ‘why it’s minecraft’. I’m not saying there’s wrong with that, it’s just a fact.

    • Can confirm it is fun, especially with 4 players

  4. I wonder which executive is gonna get bent over the spanking wheel for this one?

  5. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the difficulty slider is because Minecraft has a target demographic of “yes.”

    • @Advait Mathur I’m a subscriber on the channel. We get to see things a week early, and the face is an indicator of how long I’ve been a member (1 month in this case) Channel memberships started about 6 weeks ago.

    • Ah man, I didn’t realize that the target demographic for Minecraft was an English Prog Rock band from the mid 20th century

    • stormcloak-spy -

@xileFM – respect for the niche reference

    • stormcloak-spy -

@Kenton Arrington ah thanks for explaining

    • Daniel Mcilwaine

Minecraft Dungeons on Apocalypse VI is somewhat brutal which leads me to believe most of the reviewers played the game on Default IV

  6. IDidntKnowTheyAllowed ANameThisLongForAttention

    “ITS MINE ALL MINECRAFT!”

  7. A minecraft game without mining or crafting? That’s like an assassin’s Creed game without assassins.

    Oh, wait.

    • Matthew Mazzetti

Rasheed Nesbitt An assassin is also a member of the Assassin Order, the people the game is named after. Maybe you should play a fucking Assassin’s Creed game.

    • But the game is good in my opinion. It isnt quite minecraft, but its still pretty good.

    • @Oimatejohnson Oimatejohnson sounds like you were just bad at the game. I stealth kill people all the time.

    • Oimatejohnson Oimatejohnson

@Kaulen Fuhs yeah, it’s possible, but any “special” enemies you get to fight don’t die from one stealth attack – and i maxed out every assassin skill i could, mind. i don’t know how i can be bad at pressing a button but sure lol

    • Emporer Palpatine

      @hexalby HADOUKEN!!!

  8. Truly, this game is probably the most “I’m only going to play if I’m bored or if I’m waiting for other more engaging games to update” type of game. It’s just diablo 3 with a minecraft skin. (and much less entertaining without the gore, dialogue, and ambiance)

    • MeatQuaad dungeons does have music in the dungeons and sometimes a little bit of ambiance

    • and at least with diablo there were more than 6 peices of gear, and with legendaries you could have some crazy combonations of effects that made wacky builds possible. this game just feels like they took everything that made diablo fun and sanded it down so that young children could understand and play it

  9. “Minecraft” dungeons. You never mine nor craft.

  10. Minecraft was lightning in a bottle. Dungeons is just another generic game.

    • I have been playing Minecraft for the first time very recently and i disagree, is an apparently ok game with a lot of obnoxious and non sensical design choices.

    • @Nahuel Ahpa lmao how are you only playing for the first time now. I think it’s a real fun game but it might be hard to critique purely because everyone knows everything lol. I love it tho.

    • @Nahuel Ahpa what design decisions do you find nonsensical?

    • @Simple-Commentator-not-really Lightning in a bottle doesn’t imply something impossible.
Just something so unlikely that if you ever pull it off you’re probably never going to do it a second time.

In other words, it’s a saying about things being a one-off accomplishment that you could never repeat nor likely better.
And regardless of what it is as a game, you almost certainly wouldn’t be able to make something as successful, even if you could make a better take on the same concept.

  11. “This is a game that exist” is probably the best review for this game.

  12. Ironically this is one of the kinder reviews of this game I’ve watched. Still gonna make the Blandest list come December I bet.

  13. Mysterious Person

Actually, a vengeful older brother going after his little brother after the younger brother coats his house in lava is oddly compelling.

  14. What if, a board game where instead, a team variation on it, where each team is some far corner of the political compass, and the goal is to, by some Rube Goldberg machine, activate some execution thing against opposing ideology ? Like, the tankies are trying to activate a guillotine, racist authoritarians trying to activate a helicopter to drop people from, etc. I guess pacifists would win if the game goes on long enough without anyone being eliminated?

  15. matthew cherrington

But yahtzee there are 2 more difficulties that perform like dark souls.

  16. It definitely doesn’t have the creativity of minecraft but it’s an ok game. Fun enough. Just once you beat it, which doesn’t take long, there really isn’t much motivation to play more.

  17. Wanderer Werewolf

Yeah, but Monopoly is owned by Hasbro. They wouldn’t even allow the use of MLP characters in a fighting game. They’d never go for it.

  18. Michael Pohoreski

Minecraft == _Digital Lego_ (or a train set). There are numerous similarities.

  19. It’s funny because I always saw minecraft as a lego equivalent (though minecraft doesn’t interest me much even though I love lego).
What’s funnier though is that a lot of the Lego I had as a child was trains.
Thus I was playing with a train set AND lego…
Side note; Given what I most enjoyed making with Lego…
Lego Worlds was a massive disappointment to me.
Sure it’s trying to go full circle and make minecraft with actual lego…
But you can’t make custom vehicles. At all.
    And that’s frustrating, since…
Well even now, go have a look at lego’s online store and look at what their products consist of.
It’s still 60-70% vehicles of some kind.
And while Lego Worlds does include vehicles, they’re not customisable even slightly…
    Yeah. Major oversight.

… Probably one of the reasons I don’t like minecraft much either.
Sure I can set up a massive railway with minecarts…
But even with mods I can’t realistically build custom vehicles. (the few mods that try create stuff that’s really janky.)

  20. Pretty much anything can be adapted to fit a different ideology just by how you present it.

    Case in point: Monopoly.
An anti-capitalist screed turned into pro-capitalist poster child somehow.

  21. @skep channel membership

  22. Zatchooze Naut ah, thanks.

  23. @Edison Trent — my thing is trying to backpack around and map the entire overworld in Hardcore mode.

Even just trying to create a system of shelters that can let you reach all 4 corners without dying requires considerable infrastructure.

  24. How about Minecraft Warcraft. Get your villagers to gather resources to make more villagers, build buildings to protect them, and make soldiers to defeat enemies.
Doesn’t sound too bad, and it would fit the themes of minecraft.

  25. The Other Ryan Gilbert

Wow! You just explained all my gripes and problems with minecraft dungeons in just 5 minutes. I’m impressed! I liked and commented so hopefully this video gets recommended more.

  26. The Other Ryan Gilbert

    @Kevin Clark idk

  27. There’s been a minecraft dating sim in the works forever, complete with [sleepover] scenes

  28. Minecraft Spelunky

  29. @Tristen Griffith I’mma be honest I’d buy that depending on how it’s made. Could also easily just be a Minecraft server

  30. Gimme Minecraft Streetfighter

  31. Agreed. Oddly poetic, too.
