Hogwarts: A Legacy Of Hate (The Jimquisition)

J.K. Rowling is a transphobe who uses the success of Harry Potter to claim her vile views are justified. Hogwarts Legacy is a game that supports and benefits her, and as a trans person I really need to talk about that, the trolls rallying around it, and the “allies” who sold us out for the sake of a media product.

For most people, it’ll always be “just a game.” For those of us threatened by the vicious little monsters Rowling emboldens, it’ll always be something more.

  1. Very intense video. But i loved every second of it! This dumb wizard game is fakin shiieet

  2. All people ever parrot is dog whistle. Honestly she is living rent free in so many peoples heads its funny. And still no valid reasoning

  3. some random British TERF asking a specific class of men IN AMERICA, that I already am terrified of (as a white cis woman, mind), to come in and patrol the fucking bathrooms WITH GUNS, where I already feel uncomfortable having to be around strangers as it is… makes me so righteously angry. what the actual FUCK, lady.

  4. professor fig dies no matter what ending you get and rockwood cursed anne to frame the goblins

  5. This doesn’t even mention the excruciating antisemitism present in the game. The plot is that an oppressed minority who are forced to work in banking and restricted from owning certain property doesn’t want to be oppressed anymore, and you have to stop them from rising above their station. The original project lead for the game runs an Alt-Right youtube channel, and the goblins are all fairly obviously designed to look like Nazi propaganda about the evils of Jewish people. So if you bought this game to support the developers, fuck you for supporting Nazi propagandists. Fuck you for giving money to a TERF. Fuck you.

I’ve never been more offended at a Jimquisition episode……that starting bit was almost ripped entirely from a Boston’s Favourite Son episode.

  7. “Products over people.” So many truths are packed in this video about sickness in human nature and our systems, I think I have to watch it twice!! Really loved it; got the emotions going-thks for the content 🙂

  8. hello Jim Sterling

  9. Stay strong Steph!

  10. The only way I ever buy Hogwarts Legacy is if it comes up on Humble Bundle and I can adjust the profit destination to Humble/Charity

  11. ‘Commentors’ didnt say you were “Mentally Ill”…..Absolute Dumbshit did

  12. Well, if we follow the science… Rowling is right on most points. Dunno why feelings are overpowering scientific fact, but its making trans activists look a lot like flat earthers. We can agree to disagree, just keep it civil… Unlike those people bullying streamers or harassing people.

  13. I’m a member of a minority group that’s frequently under the cross hair s of the right wing. So I can somewhat understand your fears. I have seen too much news about the systematic attacks on trans people.
Even though my stand will be like holding back a drop of water to an ocean it’s my drop. I won’t buy the game.
All of us need to stick together or there will be no one to speak up for us when they come for us.
    Keep on fighting Stephanie.

  14. I did not buy the game but mostly because I am not 9 and the thought of going to wizard ‘school’ rather than playing a game where I am an actual wizard. Be that as it may I am somewhat torn because I like to view games as a form of art or expression, yeah they can be political they can carry a message and while some can enjoy games like saint’s row where you beat people to death with a gaint dildo others can regard that in bad taste. Harry potter is a story about an orphaned boy who finds his identity as a wizard in a world that does not accept him nor does he feel comfortable in. I remember when the book came out and christians were convinced it was promoting devil worship but in reality its the same story as many others where a nobody finds their destiny.

I am pretty sure there is not any trans representation in Harry potter and some might feel that the story is poorer to it but neither does the art ‘attack’ said people by their exclusion. 20 years ago these terms did not exist after all. So while I am greatly disapointed that the auther uses her wealth and fame to promote a view point that hurts other people I can’t help but feel that Harry potter would not, he seems like a pretty good bloke and for those that related to Harry potter to seek the greatness in themselves no matter who they are I would not want to take that away from them. Because art is for everyone.

While I hope video games become more accepted into that view point I always try to seperate the art from the artist and while today that seems harder to do with socail media I don’t feel those who purchased the game are not with you. If they believe that there is a world out there for others to be accepted in then maybe trans people will fit that bill too. Anyways, happy Valentines day. I love what you do and that you do it.

  15. Steph we have moved on from talking about these horrible devoid souls, to simply ignoring them entirely now, since everyone knows what pieces of shit they are now.
