I believe it is possible to do pretty well on your own. Its just it takes luck and working smarter and not harder. One of the runs you probably had quota but you jumped right into quick sand. lol

1. CHANGE WEATHER: You can change the weather of planets by going to The Company, land, and then go back into orbit. You can do this as many times as you want (you can land at The Company as many times as you want, this will not change the day, but can change the weather of other planets and might even give you a sale at the Store, but that is rare).
2. ABBREVIATION: At the computer, you only need to input the first three characters and press enter to execute a command; and you only need to enter C or D for Confirm or Deny (Example: If I want to go to the Experimentation moon, I’ll type in exp and enter and then C to confirm). I think the only one this doesn’t work for is STORE.
3. MONSTER SPAWNING: From what I can tell, outside monsters CAN start spawning at 5:00 PM and then the percentage/chance of them spawning increases every half hour after that.
4. ELECTRONIC DOORS: You can open electronic doors at the computer, you will need the name of the door however (the name of the door should be painted on the front of it. If the name of the door is R4, you just type that into the computer and press enter.
5. TURRETS AND LANDMINES: You can also turn off turrets and landmines with the computer also (this requires another person). If you’re watching another person on radar, you’ll see a different blip on the radar with a code next to it. Type the code into the computer and this should turn off that device.
