You missed a crucial part in the Old Man Consequences minigame. After OMC tells you to rest your own soul, you can put yourself into the pond. Like a metaphor for cleansing yourself; freeing your soul. After that the game crashes. Why? Because Golden Freddy DID give up. He understood that there’s no point in torturing Afton anymore. It’s best to allow Afton to rot in Hell and free yourself and all the other souls up to Heaven. There is more or less of a happy, satisfactory ending.
But, at the same time, that still leaves one question. Who is this One “we shouldn’t have killed”? Why are they important? What makes them so magical that they have the power to possess and control other souls? Afton murdered a whole bunch of kids. So why does this one kid, who isn’t even named get a special treatment? I could totally understand if this “One” was Charlotte (Henry’s daughter looking for revenge) but the One is refered to as a he, for starters. And Charlotte became the Puppet. Or maybe the One isn’t someone Afton just straight up murdered? Maybe it’s someone who he killed, but not internationally hoping to “put him back together.” Sound familiar?
I’m thinking we’re playing as Afton, but instead of just being tortured by a random soul we apparently shouldn’t have killed, it’s the crying child. The crying child wasn’t dead or dying, he was in a coma. And Afton being the crazy son of a gun he is, pulled the plug on the things keeping his son alive. Hoping, promising to put him back together. That also would match up with the Toy Chica cutscenes of luring children everyday to kill them, taking a part of their bodies to put his son back together. Or, who knows. Maybe he’s doing it for his daughter? Or both?

Golden Freddy could represent Michael after burning to a crisp in the end of FNAF 6 after Henry lit the place to release the souls of the last animatronics and kill William once and for all. Michael is putting his father (William Afton) through all this hell because of what William did to Michael and William being somewhat responsible for the bite of 87. The soul of the survival handbook is a girl named Cassidy cause when you do the cross word puzzle and collect the numbers found through out the book 52, 39, 15, 72, 5+4=9, 10 11 and finally 8 11 and do those across on down on the cross word you’ll get the name Cassidy. Maybe she is helping Michael punish William by controlling what those other animotronics (happy frog, mr hippo, nedd bear, and pig patch) are saying.
Also on page 332 in The Fourth Closet book, the name Cassidy is mentioned.
The “final game”? Heh. Cute. Remember when you said that about FNAF 4? …which has final in the title? This will never end. It may be a message to Golden Freddie. It may be a message to the player. But it’s also a message to you, Mat.
