I’d say this was believable but Odin sets sail with his house only to escape the family curse, so it existed before Edie because when he sets sail she is only a very young child.

Also the comic about Barbra’s death had the secret key in the music box exactly right. Meaning whoever sold the story had to know about the key why leave that detail in unless Edi intentionally included it for some reason. She wanted her kids/grand kids to believe in the stories so left truths in it for them to investigate and believe.

Don’t know if you want to continue this amazing series but there is another game called the “The Unfinished Swan” which explains Milton disappearance. Though i played both games I still don’t understand what happened to him.
I noticed two things right at the end there. The title of the game is “What remins of Edith Finch.” Now, that pretty clearly reflects that it’s a story told by the player character, the granddaughter. But maybe it refers to *Edie* too? I’m pretty sure at some point in the game it references the fact that Edie and Edith have the same name, it’s just that “Edie” is a familiar diminutive that’s used instead of her proper name. And what remains of Edie is…… the stories. And maybe the confessions.
The other thing was that they were all “buried in the Library.” I don’t think that refers to their stories being there, I think she actually “buried” the TRUTH of their deaths there. I think that’s referring to her confession.
