Honestly, I thought that Cassie’s father didn’t die or go missing, but changed. Something he experienced made him completely change how he viewed these characters he used to love. Another detail that I am surprised Matpat didn’t mention (although almost certainly would have noticed) is in the end credits. Each entry seemed normal enough, except for his favorite lore bots, the staff bots. They had “…” after their entry. Makes me wonder why. The feeling it gives me is the way that a person trailing off is normally written, especially to indicate uncertainty. But that’s just a theory.
