Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Elusive Age – Fleshly Beasts With Dragonball Eyes (Jimpressions)

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is pretty good. Square Enix have put out a pretty good JRPG that, shockingly, doesn’t need to reinvent itself with every sequel.

While I’m not quite as in love with it as some critics, I do enjoy it a lot. Like most DQ games, it’s simply a pleasant ride.

  1. EARLY BOYS WHERE YOU AT

  2. Currently playing dq6. I’ve been working through them for the past few months. I was planning to hold off on 11 but man… it just looks so good. Can’t wait to get into this.

  3. すたっぶずジェームズ

so jim? Puff Puff some time?

  4. Pick the campest character in a videogame, that character is Jim’s favourite

  5. Sylvando is truly the best thing about this game!

  6. Ive been waiting for this game since dragon quest 8

  7. Game of the year for me. It’s so good

  8. You named your character Sterling instead of Chungus….for shame.

  9. You are quite the fleshly beast, Jim.

  10. Who else hoped at the end when the jackpot was flashing he would do the Juicy Slots promotion?

  11. This and Octopath are so refreshing to me because far too often you see RPGs try to reinvent the wheel for the sake of being innovative with their combat systems, but sometimes its nice to just get a car that has normal functioning wheels, it won’t blow your mind but it doesn’t need too, the wheel is already perfect there is no need to go dicking around with it.

DQXI is a really great tribute and call back to the PS2 era of RPGs, it has taken some elements from things that have come out since, its crafting system for one but it does those well and does not ever forget what it was trying to be, It is a traditional RPG and I love it for that

  12. I think in all our hearts we are all massive gays.

  13. I agree about every single point made in this video !
    Praises and criticisms alike.

  14. I would definitely say using the Draconian Quest option that makes enemies stronger is highly suggested if you are familiar with JRPGs. It makes the fights FAR more interesting, plus if you don’t like it you can always turn it off at a church. You can also respec your skill points at a church, which is easy to miss, but very useful.

  15. Evil villain boss” HAHAHA, PROTAGANIST PREPARE FOR THE TOUGHEST FIGHT EVAAA….WAAIIT AAAARRGH!!!”
*gets run over by protaganist’s horse*

  16. The only black mark I have against Dragon Quest is that the composer of the pretty famous soundtracks is a literal fascist and war crimes denier

  17. Currently playing this game. Adore it to pieces. Although DQ8 is still my number one in the series, this runs a veeery close second so far.

  18. *Dragon Quest Z: Trunk’s Big Adventure*

  19. Been too busy being balls deep in Monster Hunter World to get this even though I want it so I can get balls deep in some Dragon Quest
