There is a lot of computing power lying dormant at the moment since crypto and NFTs crashed. Why don’t those people see if they can craft counterfeit gems and what not for this game, sell tham at a discount on the black market?
My Nigerian Prince scam is fine! Most people don’t even fall for it! People get a good laugh at it and I’m giving people who don’t get out much a nice fantasy they can enjoy. Honestly, I’m doing a public service.
I don’t get how there’s even a market for insanely priced predatory mobile games anymore. Who has not caught on yet that they’re not worth spending a cent on? That only leaves addicts who can’t help themselves, but in that case how do they still have money left?

In my opinion one reason why immortal was so financially successful is the game was on mobile where a lot of the casual mobile audience has seen every terrible mobile game money making scheme and gacha system and that they really just don’t care about them and will just spend and spend. If the game was left the same and only released in consoles and PC it would be a failure because all of the hardcore gaming community will preach how awful the game is with it’s micro transactions and a lot of hardcore fans will be put off on playing because they were convinced by other people not to. If you don’t believe me look at what happened to other triple A disasters like Anthem, Avengers, and BF2042 they had similar bs money making scheme BS and people were mad enough about them that they just didn’t play these games and made them failures.

I was a fan of Overwatch for many years. With OW2 in active beta and the announcement that OW2 will be free-to-play with a battle pass system. I know with out a shadow of a doubt that it’s going to be another Diablo Immortal. The sad part is that the execs at Activision / Blizzard have lied to or brain washed or convinced popular content creators in the Overwatch community to say this will be a good thing. Anyone who has kept an eye on the gaming industry and the trend to more in game purchases know that this is not a good thing. I can’t be apart of it anymore. I no longer play Overwatch or any Blizzard game any more. It’s getting harder and harder to be a gamer because there are getting to be less and less game companies left with any integrity. Perhaps it’s time I find a new hobby.
For ever informed a educated person on this subject there are 100k uncaring people. So i don’t playing the game. Np. There is 100k other ppl that will. Then the whales come in and boom 50 million.
I blame the gamers. Plenty of Immortal’s player base will defend the game, saying things like “Well I’m having fun.”, or “I’m progressing and I haven’t spent any money.” They don’t care that it’s selling power and is predatory all they see is a free game or they feel that they are smart for not spending money even though they are part of the calculation. Whales need Krill to eat after all.
I mean, sure, they made their money back, but I would hardly call it a success, at least not as successful as they’d like it to be. It’s a Gacha game based off one of the most popular IPs ever made and it didn’t even come close to making the revenue of other Gacha Games, even whilst being one of the, if not the most predatory Gacha Game out there.
So, yeah, it still sucks, any profit is too much for Diablo Immortal, but at least I can be happy knowing that it is, in fact, not living to their financial expectations. Man, that’s depressing…
Shame on the gamers too that support this mess and actually give them 1 penny. I wonder what the intelligence level is cause the brighter gamers know better, are aware of the big picture and just don’t play. Give another game your time. It’s the only way we win and get our games back.
