Alone in the Dark is a survival horror video game developed by Pieces Interactive and published by THQ Nordic. The game is a reimagining of the original 1992 Alone in the Dark and the seventh installment in the Alone in the Dark video game series. It was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on 20 March 2024. The game follows Emily Hartwood (Jodie Comer) and private investigator Edward Carnby (David Harbour) as they travel to Derceto Manor to investigate.

While it’s true that RE took influence from Alone In The Dark, its actual predecessor, and the game it started development as a sequel to, was Capcom’s own Famicom survival horror RPG, Sweet Home. This was the game that started several things that would go on to become gaming staples, including permadeath and quicktime events, in the late ’80s. It even started the iconic door opening loading screen transition.

Thanks I enjoyed watching all that. Such a disappointing ending though, the boss and the enemies generally were very uninspiring to me. I played the original on PC in 92(?) and that actually had more jump scares in it!

All the delay but still the game has some bugs they should perfect it since its been a months from the expected release of the game.

Hey Brad! Maybe you can use your influence to convince the game developers to remake games like “The Suffering”, and “Shadowman”, and “Shadowman: 2nd Coming”? 😁I would absolutely LOVE to see those games remade with the latest engines and graphics and to watch you play them!
Brad, the studio made the alone in the dark game too short. They should’ve added more chapter. They should release a DLC with a bonus story with bonus chapters.

Does anyone have good game recs to watch/play? I prefer ones like this, RE especially village and biohazard, the quarry, alan wake. Basically survival horror, dark, exploring type beat. You know the vibe:)
