Electronic Arts Just Failed To Give Its Executives Millions Of Undeserved Bonus Dollars

Electronic Arts is the latest company to be questioned by investors over plans to enrich its corporate leadership for no justifiable reason. EA recently tried to award executives millions in bonuses, but were voted down. As they should be.

The news follows Activision being questioned over plans to give CEO Bobby Kotick a small fortune to add to his huge fortune, as EA further demonstrates that the “AAA” game industry is one long con designed to make a few rich old men extraordinarily wealthy.

The whole thing is a scam, and it’s so blatant that even the investors funding the travesty are getting confused.

  1. It’s not a failed bonus. It’s a Surprise Pay Cut.

  2. I see it like this I feel like

This is why I’m buying more and more indie games, and less and less big name games.

  3. It’s sad that a dragon hoarding gold is less greedy than executives, because at least the dragon throws in the towel once it obtains its wealth that it will never use for economic purposes.

  4. The one person that disliked likes to get milked all their money .

  5. “Whether they deserve it or not”
Do they EVER deserve it, Jimmy? Do they ever?

  6. Imagine an industry so rotten, that you can literally have a weekly show on your YouTube channel talking about the many atrocities in said industry, and STILL have enough material to just make some random reactionary videos about even more atrocities every week. Multiple times every week. Good lord…

  7. I bet when those executives heard the news their bonuses were shot down, they legitimately felt like something wrong had been done to them.

  8. Remember this. Many companies can run without a CEO or other executives coming in months between their meetings but will fail if the lower works sometimes miss a couple days because of any emergency or other reasons. But yet, a lot of these executives get paid way more for doing jack shit.

  9. In essence, most execs are professional racketeers. Go and look up the definition of the word and it hits the nail on the head. Modern day Gangsters

  10. Hey like… maybe instead of bonuses for the people already making mils, why not some bonuses for those who… oh, I don’t know… make the products? You know when those products sell really well… cause they’re good. Like that Star Wars game. Give those people some bonuses, maybe? Or the Apex Legends folks. You know the ones who made good games *despite* corporate fuckery.

  11. CEOs not making more money should be a feature, not a bug.

  12. shytende aka Tamanoir

They are literally money black holes, sucking all the money towards themselves, because the amount of money they possess is already far past critical mass.

  13. A industry wide strike is the only thing that can stop this nonsense.

  14. “Bonuses they award themselves….” I can just picture Emperor Kuzco saying “it’s my birthday gift to ME!” and hugging his mountain.

  15. Almost like no human being should ever be making MILLIONS of dollars per year as a salary. ALMOST like workers should be paid a comfortable, living wage to pay rent and buy quality food.
