Wandersong – Hitting The Right Notes (Jimpressions)

Wandersong is a lovely little game about singing and saving the world. Bright, colorful, and utterly cute, I’m personally enjoying the heck out of it.

  1. still waiting for CrossCode Jimpressions PepeHands but this work too

  2. I’m SO glad this Dev is getting more attention. He makes such cute and charming games and Wandersong is the best of the lot!

  3. Hi Jim!

  4. Where do you wrestle at in Mississippi? Because I’m in Mobile and would like to see you wrestle.

  5. This genuinely looks like a great experience!

  6. I’m playing it right now and loooooving it its a beacon of light in this dark world

  7. I’m happy that Jim is playing playing games and not AAA shite

  8. This game is charming and so adorable!

  9. Jim basically described, at the start, how I felt about Yoshi’s Story on the N64 . A simple game that was silly fun that wasnt too challenging. So this is right up my street I love it already 😀

  10. I’m confused why the devs didn’t have you press a button to confirm a note. That way you wouldn’t have to let go of the analog stick between every note, you could just rotate past the intervening notes to the new one, and press the A button or whatever to sing just that note when you get there. And you could press the button multiple times to sing the same note in succession, again without having to let go of the stick.

  11. Dear God, my eyes. I’m fond of charm, but this really looks like someone ate a box of crayons and threw up a game

  12. *Jim Sterling* – There is one thing I WISHED you touched on. Does the game have a mode for the colorblind? I can see the base mechanic (the radial note menu) has both direction and color as indicators, but there are instances where it’s not showing what note to hit in some of those screens (like the pirate sing along at the end of the video). It would be nice if the game included a feature that changed the color wheel based on a selected colorblind option. This could affect the enjoyment of some people.

  13. I’ve been tracking this game ever since I bumped into it at Pax West 2017. It was definitely worth the wait, I’m really enjoying the game 🙂

  14. I’ve subbed and dinged the dong but this vid didn’t show up under my notifications! :/ YouTube… Have you been doing bad things again?

  15. So I get to play as a bard…? I’m sold

  16. It’s like if Aquaria and Adventure Time had a baby and that baby had a dedicated dance button!

  17. It looks somewhat reminiscent of Parappa the Rapper, and there is nothing bad about that.

  18. Jim, steam is letting devs disable user reviews! This is very bad!!!

  19. The cuteness and adore-ability of this game is off the charts :).

  20. The dance button reminds me a lot of Transistor’s hum button. Neither really adds gameplay, but instead a lot of charm and character.
