While I don’t agree with Playtonic kicking off Jontron, their decision to do so is understandable because:
A. Jontron gained too much controversy and unintentionally associated himself with right-wing beliefs. B. In general, it’s best for Playtonic to also target this game toward children and younger audiences, not just the fans of Jontron and Rare’s golden-age era games. The worst thing Playtonic would want right now is to be slandered by fake news outlets for “Supporting a racist neckbeard who eats babies and kicks puppies for fun”
Also, Jontron has stated that he respects Playtonic’s decision. So trying to “fight for Jontron” is only going to financially hurt a developer team that is wanting to produce a game- a game that will probably be loved by Jontron.
I want you to take a wild guess out how Jontron would react to seeing his “defenders” financially damage a team of developers that created special childhood memories for him…let me give you a hint- he’s not going to be happy
