Game as a service was introduced by previous EA CEO now managing a football team.
It was first introduced with DLC and now has evolved toward this pay to win model.
-EA isn’t evil it’s just a Public Corporation
Like comcast , AT&T , Coca Cola , they just here to make profit not please gamers.
Overwatch sucks too.
Overwatch is just as guilty as starwars.
Everyone was suckered into buying that minigame masquerading as a AAA title.
Loot boxes are gambling regardless of the goods inside.
If you can’t see that overwatch was that tipping point then you were not only tricked but brainwashed.
Gamers fucked up royally by allowing overwatch to take your money with a smile on your face.
PLAY WARFRAME!
Spending money for a random loot box is gambling.
Overwatch might not have suckered as many people but it’s still gambling, just not as many bells and whistles.

Out of video-game commentary, It’s hard to have me listen to (even a TV show) a video for more than 10 minutes, let alone 20+ … But you deserve patreon support. It was so heart warming and touching, mad respect for them
Compared to them EA, Blizzard etc is like a cold machine that work non-stop to print money with the least effort possible
They have tasted the sweet sweet microtransaction money, they will try their hardest to apply it to their newer game with a scheme that is much worse than Lootboxes
Still, it is great if Lootboxes disappear thanks to the government, I’m just worried on what come next

FINALLY, Someone FINALLY calls out FIFA, I realized this years ago. I personally sore off FIFA years ago, despite the love for World’s beautiful sport running through my viens.
It all makes sense now that so much information was provided. The big mistake that EA made was that they didn’t differentiate between players of those FIFA games with Star Wars fans. Football is a sport, pure competition no real view on morals and such other than obeying the rules of that sport, so players gladly payed to have more advantages, not to mention that gambling is tied to sports, so it was more accepted from that community. Star Wars on the other hand is a title based on the fight of Good vs Evil, debates on Jedi vs Sith, their morals and ethics. When EA had a game built around one of the seven deadly sins; Greed, and the unfair advantages tied to that, the fans erupted, and gamers that want a fair competition from a game joined them. So EA really screwed up for being so ignorant and arrogant.
EA: “Eh, gamers are all the same. Dice, put same card system that we used in FIFA, so that we can make even more money!”
