“He’s *_faster_* than Sonic!” I think we would call that a quick step or a side step, people like Shadow, or for instance Infinite know how to use the Quickstep (Sidestep) I wouldn’t call that faster than Sonic.
He’s been studying in the ’06 Shadow roundhouse kick school.
Looking at those ‘cubes’ (you’ll understand the quotes in a second) that Infinite has, they look like tesseracts, aka hypercubes, which are fourth-dimensional objects represented in 3D space. Anything from the 4th dimension could have interesting effects in 3D space, these objects might actually be 4D objects thus they would be insanely powerful in the 3rd dimension. Infinite might hail from the 4th dimension and his coming to the 3rd dimension might make him infinitely more powerful. He might not actually be faster than Sonic, he might just move along an additional plane, this would explain his effortless dodge and Tails’ device’s readings being “all messed up” (the device can’t interpret the data correctly as it can only account for 3 dimensions).
This talk of dimensional travel also brings to mind Eggman’s remarks about “Classic” Sonic being from “another dimension”, he might not be the Classic Sonic from Generations (aka the past), he might actually hail from the 2nd dimension! Or alternatively, different timelines might be confused with dimensions by Eggman. This Classic Sonic might be the one we saw before and Eggman might not be able to tell the difference between Time Travel and Dimensional Travel. I mean it’s kinda hard to tell if something is a Time portal or a Dimensional portal, they look practically the same.
