  1. 1:35 Uhhh no offence but JRR Tolkien’s men of Westernesse were all Anglo Saxon Europeans. I get that the company wants to be ultra PC about this for profits, but unless that guy is fighting with the Haradrim alongside orcs he isn’t a good guy as according to the source material. Tolkien was very specific about how groups of people looked, and watching people murder the source material for profits makes me die a little on the inside.

Imagine seeing Jackie Chan play the role of Kunta Kinte. That’s what this is like.

  2. A black dude? yeah right…they have gone too far this time.

  3. 10 percent of people talking about the game

90 percent of ignorance whining about a black guy

  4. Finally! Been waiting for this… looks great! One minor point… I hope the black dude being featured has a contextual reason to be there as it doesn’t look consistent with Tolkienian lore and I’d hate to think you guys are compromising the integrity of the world for a cheap SJW diversity inclusion…

  5. A black guy in tlotr? The done fucked up haha

  6. the diversity quota has hit middle earth lol

  7. a black person in lotr? You ruined it, can not there be a game without trying to put propaganda?

  8. I’m a black guy and was really hype for this trailer but then I made the mistake of reading the comments.lnstead of finding like minded gamers I was greeted with overt racism because there’s 1 black guy in a trailer….1…. everyone shitting their pants because they have to imagine a new world with 1(one) black person.SERIOUSLY. Now I truly hope there is 1 Asian person a Indian person a Latin person hell even a transgender just to spike you motherfucker!! grow the fuck up!!!!

  9. THE AGE OF WHITE MEN IS OVER
    Trump solemly picks up ring
    “Not yet”

  10. To all the people losing their shit over 3.2 seconds of a black dude in Gondorian armor.
    1. This game is not lore friendly. Balrogs were not in Sauron’s army, there was no second ring of power, and the Nazgul cannot fly around like Harry Potter’s Death Eaters (The only thing I have a problem with tbh)

    2. African-like people actually DO EXIST in Tolkien’s world. Near Harad is to North Africa/The Middle East, and Far Harad is to Sub-Saharan Africa. Read the Silmarillion.

    3. “But the people from Near/Far Harad allied with Melkor and Sauron!” Saruman was a good guy at one point, The Nazgul were once Kings of Men. Because you are originally part of one team, it doesn’t mean that you are incapable of switching later, especially in the case of *individuals*

TL;DR Chill the fuck out, a black dude is the least “Lore Breaking” thing in this trailer.

  11. I hate the stoic black guy character in all diverse movies and games

  12. I think the reason everyone is pissed about the black dude is because we know why he’s there. No one likes it when you just throw a black guy in a movie or game (especially a LOTR game where there really aren’t black people in the lore… at all) so you can say it’s diverse. And it’s so fucking obvious. Same thing with the new star wars movies. Just us knowing why they’re there is what’s so infuriating.

  13. What people are trying to say in their rather…expressive manner is that a black character belongs in the LotR mythology as much as a European belongs in African mythology.
Lord of the Rings has undeniably become a part of European Mythos and should be treated as carefully as one would treat a cherished African story. If an African legend was taken and a European thrown in for apparently no reason, there would be utter outrage.

  14. I just thought that instead of writing about the game and what it could be, thought that is a good topic, I would mention how well made this video is. It draws you in, and really makes you ask questions and want to know more. Good job to the people who made this video… it is extremely enjoyable and well done. Let me guess… Lord of the Rings’ fans? The lighting on certain points, like Minas Morgul and the armor of the people are simply fantastic.

  15. The Scarlet Shepherd

if you read this comment, please for your own sanity and well-being just don’t look further down. Else you read some of the dumbest complaints and anti-sjw ramblings over a single screenshot/character. Just enjoy the cinematic and leave.

  16. Christ, you let one orange retard in the White House and suddenly everyone loses their shit over a black guy in a video game.

  17. Black Gondorians? So lore clearly doesn’t matter anymore. Long as the diversity quota is met. Sad.

  18. Am I the only person who doesn’t care that there’s a black guy I’m the trailer?
