Monster Hunter World Won’t Devalue Its Gameplay With Loot Boxes

There are still some companies in the “AAA” scum pit that actually GET it, and understand how microtransaction shortcuts can devalue a game.

  1. I’ve never played a monster Hunter game before, but I might just pick this up because of this.

  2. to be fair for me the grind to me is most of the fun in monster hunter games and think maybe next time i do the fight faster

  3. Lootboxes don’t save time. If anything, they take it away from you while you’re gambling your money on digital pixels.

  4. *d*e*s*t*I*n*y *s*h*a*d*e*r*s*

  5. Thank *god*. Capcom is letting us Hunters hunt in peace. Now I have even more reason to buy World, and I’m really looking forward to this game.

  6. Capcom not doing something to grab some cash

    *WHAT?*

  7. The fact that this is a compliment to Capcom, of all things, just makes this even more amazing/hilarious in hindsight.

  8. But it’s not on switch

  9. I was considering gettin MH World but now it looks even better lol

  10. I’m now really excited for this game, down with the loot box Reich!

  11. As a gamer who got into monster hunter just last year and who got demolished by kut-kus over and over again… i totally agree with not skipping those vital beginning

  12. Monster Hunter World is the first game I’ve preordered since Dark Souls came out, so I’m glad to hear the corporate side is being handled in a sensible way. If they manage to resist carving downloadable missions out and selling them as DLC, I’ll be a truly happy hunter 🙂

  13. You have to actually play the game, what madness is this?

  14. Was this video really needed? Anyone who played Monster Hunter would already know that loot boxes wouldn’t work in this game, would be like trying to add loot boxes to Dark Souls.

  15. I was already tempted to get this. This news is encouraging. At this point in time, I’m just so used to assuming any “AAA” title is going to have DLC bullshit in it.

  16. Why the F**k do we still call them “micro-transactions”

Lets call them “Mega-fleecy-take the last pennies in your pocket transaction”

  17. ThunderStryke Canter

So glad that MHW is taking a decisive stance against the newest game industry bullshit. The franchise has always made all of it’s DLC 100% free too, so it’s good to know they’re keeping that true player-first ideology alive.

  18. Monster hunter is mostly based on word of mouth, doesn’t really sell in the same way games like Assassin’s Creed or CoD do, i.e regardless of how shit they are they sell. Be literal suicide for capcom to do that, especially with the bigger budget they put in the new one.

  19. Monnster hunter 10% what equipment you have 90% knowing how to play the game. I had some of the best armor and weapons. let my coworker play against a great jaggi he got his ass handed to him.

  20. Deep silver is also a no bullshit publisher
