How YouTube Censored Michelangelo Because Of Zelda Fan Outrage (The Jimquisition)

Last week’s video annoyed fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Last week’s video was slapped with an age restriction that basically censored it. Last week’s video earned this censorship for featuring Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam.

Amazing.

Imagine being a massive fan of not only a multibillion dollar corporation but one that goes out of its way even if it costs them money just to screw over fans.

  2. Zelda fans are so empty in the head that they think pre-baked animations are never before seen physics.

  3. So bot flagged nudity in classical painting and no-one in youtube bothered to check anything.

  4. I hope you get everything you deserve

Youtube is the actual worst. I have several times attempted to contact them as a consumer of content to give feedback and to ask why specific features have changed for the worse, and their “customer service” is so lacking, they haven’t even been able to recognise that I am not a content creator asking for help with my channel, but an audience member. I don’t know any other company that gets away with such a pathetic excuse for customer service in today’s age. They seem to actually rely on being deliberately obtuse so they don’t have to answer for anything they’ve done.

Maybe Nintendo isn’t even Japanese. What if it’s…Israeli? Looks like your videos ARE antisemitic, lol. (yes, utube’s a j-ke)

  7. YouTube Kids is a scary place as an adult. I won’t let my kids use it anymore. Cartoon characters should not be subjected to such things.

  8. The Youtube robots don’t wear the flayed skin of humans, that’s absurd. They wear artificially grown skin like a Terminator.

It’s not entirely unreasonable to imagine that the YouTube intern that reviewed your video had probably never seen a historical art piece in their life and mistook it for anime fan art.

  10. all hail stephanie!!

  11. I don’t get these rabid Zelda fans. I could say the Legend of Zelda is a big part of who I am, but I’m not offended when other people don’t like it, or don’t like it as much as I do. How do these people manage to grow up (assuming they have) without learning to accept that people like different things and that’s ok?

  12. Youtube changed my handle without notifying me in any way, and I ended up in a 3 month email chain with their “dedicated customer team” – every single email they sent me was from a different person, all of them were canned responses, none of them ever answered a single question I asked, Eventually their conclusion was they wouldn’t do anything to fix the problem without me providing “evidence” to them.

I forwarded some of their own emails to them, including the “evidence” they needed, two automatic emails they sent to me containing my handle, one from before and after the change. The emails were some of those automatic “hey the creator liked your comment” ones.

Their response was that the information in their automatic template-form emails “didn’t count” because the people reading my query didn’t understand where those emails got the information contained in them from.

  13. Zelda fans: “fine art, history, an image I should have seen a dozen times if I didnt watch TikToks under my desk when I should have been paying attention in class!?!? HOW DARE YOU!!!”

😂 If they are our future, we are completely doomed. 😂😂😭

  14. This reminds me of Nerd City’s video on the sexy breastfeeding lady (sexy is her word), specifically that art isn’t accountable to the community standards because it’s culturally relevant. Which included that Robin Thicke music video with Bare Boobs McGee.

  15. it’s alarming how so many U.S. companies (especially tech companies but not only) get away with no human communication when they fuck up – it’s all just bots and auto-replies unless you have enough clout on twitter to make a real PR person notice you’ve been fucked over

  16. Tears is far from perfect. I cannot believe how shitty the water temple was. Very obviously unfinished, it was clearly meant to have an upside down mechanic just like Stone Tower Temple did in Majora’s Mask. But they scrapped it for some reason and left in some of the assets. There are two upside down huge elephant heads at the start, and all this topography on the bottom side of each island. And an upside down Zonai shrine thing underneath the center island. I can’t believe how hard of a time Nintendo has had with just making a good fucking water temple ever since Ocarina of time. Skyward had a fantastic water(ish) temple in the Ancient Cistern. And really, all the 4 temples in Tears are way too short and way too easy. The 5th temple isn’t even a temple, again un-fuckin-finished! It’s so sad that they left this great game unfinished. Temples used to be this massive special occasion that you could spend hours in. I really don’t like the reduction in scale and skill level of each temple that they’ve made to all the temples in the Switch era Zeldas. It just feels wrong. It doesn’t feel like Zelda. It feels too mainstream. And how do people know by now not to fucking base their entire personality on a single IP. It’s sad. It’s juvenile. It’s pathetic. Grow up. Zelda can be bad and that can NOT mean that you are too. You’re just bad for basing your whole existence on some fictional world that a massive company owns and controls.

As always, big fan of your work and dealing with bloody copyright strikes that I keep getting appears “rejected” because “It’s not clear to us” which feels like either they’re using bots to kick back disputes to help out the content claiming thieves or that the workforce there is not even actually reading the responses and just batting it away.

  18. 3:25 -> i see you finally managed to catch a horse. Congratz for finally figuring out this basic mechanic ☺

  19. I wouldn’t say you did NOTHING wrong, Stephanie! I heard “the creation of adam” and what do I see? some old religious PORN?!? Unacceptable. I thought better of you. I thought it was the creation of, (archaic slang for molly,) MDMA; and my chaste eyes are forced to look at masculine nipples. You know, masculine nipples are raunchy and gratuitous and youtube is right to censor them and not feminine nipples.
PS: the dick is fine. no problems, although it does seem a bit like what inspired the elbow sex in rocky horror
