Google Stadia’s Attempts To Attract Developers Are Worthlessly Pathetic

Google Stadia has been out for a while, but you wouldn’t know it considering how little impact it’s had on the industry or the community.

While it’s hinging its success on big “AAA” titles like Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077, Stadia has failed to attract many smaller games, and a number of huge indie successes are notable in their absence. Apparently, that’s Google’s fault.

Google isn’t offering enough money, and can’t offer enough advantages, to attract successful smaller studios. On top of that, a lacking audience and an inherent mistrust of Google makes things even harder.

It’s almost as if Google doesn’t know what it’s doing. Maybe it no longer cares – that would track with Google perfectly.

  5. The thing that worries me about streaming services for games is that one day, someone at the company can decide that they don’t want to support the service anymore, and then POOF! All the money you’ve spent is gone, with no financial return. At least Nvidia has you buy the games on steam so if the service shuts down, you’ll still be able to play everything.
