God of War Review Reaction Video from Director Cory Barlog

First, sorry about the quality. Shot on my macbook webcam.
So, I thought a lot about whether or not to upload but then I thought of what my son, Helo, is going through right now. He doesn’t want us to be around when he is sad, opting to run in another room and yell at us if we try to come in. It has been important to us to let him know that it is OK to be sad, it is OK to cry. There is nothing to hide. I thought I would try to set a good example and show him that papa can cry in front of the world, or at least the 50 people who end up watching this. 🙂 This is for you, Helo. Papa loves you.

  15. Cory, you’re likely never going to read this, but I had such little faith in this game initially when it was announced. Then I found out you were the director of God of War 2, my favorite game in the series, and after that I saw all of the warmth and humor you possessed in interviews with you that so few in our industry do. YOU made me reconsider this game, and ultimately I will buy this game just to support you and to support a team of passionate artists who are going against all of the bullshit we’re so used to seeing with video games at the moment. Your son should be proud to have an emotionally confident father. Thank you for making God of War 2, the game that introduced me to this series, and to my favorite genre of games now (probably wouldn’t have played Devil May Cry if I had not first checked out God of War 2) and thanks for being an awesome person.

  16. thank you Cory Barlog you are amazing

  17. I have played a little of the other entries and i must say this time around you made THE game of 2K18. This title will be one of my all time favorites and most likely many other people’s as well. Simply epic man.

  18. You should be proud of this amazing game. I honestly haven’t been able to put the controller down for the last few days. God of war has reignited my love for gaming after all of the BS going on in the industry right now. Congratulations on creating this masterpiece. ??

  19. Thanks Sony, Thanks Santa Monica, Thanks Cory, Thanks

This is my first time ever in my entire life that I have reached out to a developer :

Thank you Cory Barlog and the entire Santa Monica Studio team for once again making the greatest GOD OF WAR. In my humble opinion, Game of the Year for 2018.

I am mesmerized by the incredible experience you have given me. I had no doubt that all of you could accomplish another masterpiece while reinventing GOD OF WAR. So much so that, within 60 seconds of getting notified by Best Buy that the $150 GOD OF WAR Mason edition was available for pre-orders, I pre-ordered it. I painfully kept myself from listening or seeing anything related to this game because I did not want to ruin the experience.

Within the first 10 minutes of the games, I was smiling and giddy from what all of you had done.. Much love for all your talent and devotion. Look forward to your next project whatever it may be. Thank you! Thank you so very much for all your hard work and dedication
