God of War Ragnarök is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first cross-gen release in the series. It will be the ninth installment in the God of War series, the ninth chronologically, and the sequel to 2018's God of War.

Ragnarök is set in the world of Norse mythology but expands upon the previous game's narrative, with an even greater focus on exploration and open-world gameplay. While God of War (2018) allowed the player to access six of the nine realms of Norse mythology, Ragnarök's expanded focus sees the player exploring each of the nine realms, including the new additions of Svartalfheim, the industrial abode of the Dwarves; Vanaheim, the lush home of the Vanir gods; and Asgard, the golden of the Æsir gods. Midgard, the primary realm of the 2018 installment, is heavily featured but is now a frigid wasteland, dramatically changed by Fimbulwinter, a three-year long winter that began upon the conclusion of the previous game. The Lake of the Nine, previously navigable by means of a boat in the previous game, is now frozen over. Svartalfheim is explorable to the same degree as Midgard was in the previous game. Alfheim, Helheim, and Niflheim all return, with an expanded focus and character exploration.

Taking place three years following the events of the previous game, Fimbulwinter, a great winter that spans three summers, is drawing to a close which will begin the prophesied Ragnarök. Kratos and his teenage son Atreus begin to traverse the nine realms to seek out a means to prevent Ragnarök while attempting to uncover answers behind Atreus' identity as Loki. Their journey will lead them to Týr, the Norse God of War. Their conflict will lie with Thor, the Norse God of Thunder.

  1. Appreciate the love so far fam! Means a lot to me

  2. I am totally with you! 😀 12:22

  3. “Why wouldn’t you just wanna stay here?”. Paradise has a cost, Brad. There’s such a thing as a chain of production, people have to work and produce the goods that allow us to live large. There’s no youtube without that.

  4. KRATOS NEEDS A SNICKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Whoa did Kratos say thank you when he went into that chest. wow, his grown.

  6. the door at 3:27 is like the bigger version of the savepoint of gow games in the psp like the mini light thing you used to walk and save there but now it’s bigger and connected to atreus’ story, nice little detail

  7. I know this game is brilliant, but i do not think it was the best. This is totally similar to the last one except the storyline. I expected to see the old kratos, more blood, more weapons like cestus, icarus wings, zeus sword etc. More cinematic and dark fights. Anyway this is just my personal opinion.

  8. I was very happy to play this game on my pc, until I found out it’s only for ps. Guess what I am gonna watch the complete game as a movie and enjoy it as a movie.wont waste a single penny on the pc version of the game since I already know the story, good luck with your tactics gow producers.

  9. i do not need a snack

  10. 5:31 Svartalfheim sounds familiar

  11. And 1 hour later, I’m here!

  12. the game is so fucking beautiful!!!

  13. honestly kratos saying he doesn;t need a snak had me crying with laughter

  14. Atreus is such a sweet boy Kratos needs to listen to him more. He hardly hides anything from his dad, he’s willing to tell the truth, he doesn’t really want to deceive him, he loves him, and he protects him. Kratos needs to put his fears more on the table and communicate more about his fear of his son leaving him behind and hoping he prepared him well for the future. As well as stop always hard pressing the boy! Atreus enough! Atreus bed! Atreus home now! Like dang back up off the boy! If I was there we would argue a lot about that.
