Ghost of Tsushima – Serious Samurai (Jimpressions)

Ghost of Tsushima is a very fun samurai game, and if that’s what you want, then Sucker Punch has you covered. If it’s not what you want, then who even knows what to say to you?

Visually breathtaking, mechanically pleasant, Ghost of Tsushima is just supremely enjoyable. It features some open world busywork, but the beautiful setting and delightful mix of stealth and honorable combat make for significantly moreish entertainment.

It’s like Assassin’s Creed, but significantly better.

    Introduction is immediately a 10

  2. I knew Jim would enthusiastically show off the Onsen Bum scene

  3. Me: I don’t know if I’ll end of getting Ghost. I’ll wait for the reviews.

    Jim: Man ass! And fun!

    Me: Say no more

  4. So happy I was eating a taco at the beginning of this vid

  5. This is a lot more like what open world AAA games SHOULD be like.

  6. Fun fact the traditionally primary weapon of a samurai was the bow or the naginata not the katana. When the samurai has to use their katana it means shit went wrong. At least on the battlefield. They did carry their katana as their weapon of station outside the battlefield which is probably why people think they use them on the battlefield as their go too weapon. Samurai’s tactics and battles were generally fast and skirmish like so quick strikes distance and ranged. Hence the bows and the naginata. If you look at their armor their design for the ease of bow use and to protect against arrows and less for blades

  7. “It’s basically Assassin’s Creed but good” is a surprisingly strong motivator for me to check out this game.

  8. A frog! This must be a truly ribbiting game.

  9. Kurosawa mode? Sold.

Wiping blood off the sword with the touchpad? SOLD.

Bouncing repeatedly off a ladder begging for the sweet release of death? It’s already sold, stop.

  10. A FROG out of 10?

    GOTY CONFIRMED!!!

  11. wanna know what’s better in this game than other games?

    IT HAS NO MICROTRANSACTIONS

  12. “Visuals are stunning”
Youtube: Let me compress and pixelate that for you

  13. Personally I really like the optional stuff on the map. I get excited whenever I see a fox den for the simple reason I know I’ll get to pet a cute fox and watch it hop in satisfaction

  14. Me: Ehh I’m still not so sure whether I want to buy this game or not
    Jim: *frog*
Me: I’LL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK

  15. I love having the option to bow at anyone or anything in this game. I once bowed in front of the Mizu-no-Kami frog statue and a thousand frogs suddenly spawned out of nowhere.

  16. This game is everything I wanted it to be and then some. You can pet a fox. 10/10

  17. Seeing Jim talk favourably about video games is like watching an abused animal being let out of its cage and roll around in the grass

  18. Also, how did Sucker Punch manage those load times? They’re just stupid fast for a graphics heavy AAA console game.

  19. “This game makes you feel like an assassin and a samurai at the same time”

A statement that is the final nail in the coffin for the “assassin’s” creed franchise
