You forgot to account for inflation. Keep in mind that Pokemon Red and Blue came out in 1996 so money has totally changed.
It’s actually worse. Say water is 50 cents back then means 100 pokedollars is 25cents. Making the bike 2500 dollars still and your max wealth in original games 800 dollars without fighting elite4 with no bought items over and over.
