I kickstarted(?) it and I’ve yet to play it… enthusiasm for it rather diminished between the time the kickstarter first went up and when the game was actually finished. Hearing that it’s “okay” makes me think I’ve been right to put it off until my backlog of undoubtedly better games is cleared. Nice that it’s turned out okay, shame that it’s turned out… okay.
“But Jim, they have to lock away the equipment that makes the main fox character properly battle-ready so that the game can be touted as a metroidvania.”
If the character cannot properly traverse the world or defeat early enemies fairly easily, you’re doing it wrong.
Speaking of anthropomorphic animals, why aren’t there more games where you play as straight up animals. And no, i’m not talking about dog’s life or goat simulator, but games like Okami
Thank you for your service daddy Jim
First 5 oh yeah!
but what does he say ?
Great, now you made want to watch The Basil Brush Show. I had no bloody idea that he was originally created in the 60’s!
Could have sworn you covered this already. Did you talk about it in a podcast?

Me, two seconds into the video: Basil Brush!! 😀
Thanks for the video, Jim. The “changing season” mechanic looks interesting!
Indie platformer formula:
Single semi-innovative platforming gimick + Pixelart or Vector artstyle… don’t offer anything else for some reason
Looks great, and the flaws mentioned don’t bother me because I’m used to crap like Mr. Nutz or Smart Ball
Needs more yiffing,
Doesn’t really have a cohesive art style, like everyone sprited each object without looking at the others.

I’m only here for furry fox character.
‘That’s Retrokay’
That’s what I’m going to say everytime I play a new retro game.
Speaking of anthropomorphic animals, why aren’t there more games where you play as straight up animals. And no, i’m not talking about dog’s life or goat simulator, but games like Okami
looks good but looks pretty boring
This new Tails game looks pretty nice. Wonder what Sonic Team will come up with next.
So it’s a fairly run-of-the-mill retro-style platformer from the sounds of it.
Just walking around like it’s OK…
