Fall Guys is an entertaining game that shines a grimly colorful light on just how self-destructive our self-service can be. Crabs in a bucket, people!
While it has some issues – mainly from a monetary perspective – Fall Guys is a great blend of battle royale and silly physicality evocative of shows like Takeshi’s Castle.
Also, I’m the best at it because I watched The Krypton Factor growing up.
Note: for those wondering what in the world Takeshi’s Castle is in the US, they used the footage from said series for MXC on Spike TV in the early-mid 2000’s.

The best thing about Jim is when you can hear the surprise in his voice when he actually enjoys a game. Never gets old.

Fall Guys is a cool idea, nice experiment where someone decided to add *fun* to a battle royale game.
Jim theres actually trophies for emoting before you cross the finish line and for hugging someone those people are probably getting those more than trolling ppl about to finish lol
Fun, cute little game. Only major criticisms are that many games you can afk until the final few seconds, a lot of random chance can kill you, you don’t have much agency and there needs to be way more variation in the first couple of stages.
This game is free with PlayStation Plus right now if anyone is interested.
I’m surprised I still haven’t heard from one person saying the Fall Guys look like Baymax from Big Hero 6.
Years of Jim’s roundness have finally prepared him for this moment.
It’s kind of eye-opening now looking back how no one’s ever thought of a Takeshi’s Castle-like video game, considering how simple the premise is and how much fun we had watching it back then. The closest i can think of is Maplestory 2, but even that it’s just a mini-game (but really, bloody good fun).

When I first saw the game, I actually said to myself: “I’m surprised it took this long for something like that to be made.”
Fall Guys is just a genius concept and the expansion possibilities are tremendous. I got to play in the beta before launch as a content creator, and it 100% sealed the deal for me.
Fall Guys will probably end up as Game of the Year for me personally, purely because it is just so much fun to try and get those golden crowns. ^w^
