Escape From Tarkov Dev Hits Channel With 47 False DMCA Takedown Claims

Battlestate Games, known for Escape From Tarkov, has issued 47 takedown strikes against YouTuber Eroktic, citing “misinformation” and “negative hype.”

Neither of these are valid reasons to use the DMCA takedown system, but BSG nonetheless had almost 50 videos wiped out.

This won’t end well for them.

  1. Just broken youtube being broken

  2. HERE WE GO AGAIN!!

  3. Basically never touching this game because of the developers action. Anyone else the same?

  4. *Why do we have man children as game developers?*

  5. “Negative hype”. I wonder if they borrowed that term from the Romino brothers’ guide to bullshit.

  6. What a shame. I like EFT but this ain’t cool Battle State

  7. I’m afraid SidAlpha is gonna get hit with another strike because he’s covered this situation. It happened when he talked about Fur Fun.

  8. The sassiest response anyone can give this sort of action:

Talk about their game while showing footage from “the Slaughtering Grounds”!

    Well played Jim.

  9. It is actually hitting the point that Youtube _legitimately_ needs to do something about this BS system.
There are also music agencies claiming peoples videos first then expecting proof of licence after *_even when creators have previously proved their license_* and as such, absolutely destroying a channels most lucrative period of advertising income.
This is literally effecting all sides of YT and happening in increasing frequencies so YT ignoring this frankly fraudulent application of the system needs to end if they want to remain relevant.
It’s time like these i wish i had a Mr.Burns-ian styled awaiting pack of litigious happy lawyers….. and not just because i can then scream “RELEASE THE LAWYERS!”….. promise

  10. There needs to be consequences for false strikes. This just keeps getting worse and worse.

  11. Thank God for Jim Sterling!

  12. Why is there no backlash for someone using a false takedown claim? Is there any negative to issuing them with no proof?

  13. And here I was, contemplating if I should buy the game couple days ago. Good that I didn’t.

Never touching anything from these devs now. Never heard of them until now tbh. Another brown stain on the undies of the gaming industry. I’ll tell my social circles about this shit bin of a game developer.

  15. I was considering getting this game. Guess I will save my money now.

  16. Game looked pretty cool when I watched Smii7y play it and considered buying it myself, but now… Yikes, I dont want to support developers like this.

  17. Looks like they’re committing “digital homicide”….

    I’ll see myself out.

  18. Another game to the “not even if it is free” list.

  19. We haven’t had a developer meltdown in a while, oh well as the saying goes……. Monday always comes
