Why don’t you bitch about games with TEAMS of people for “using other peoples work” cause you know damn well a coder and an artist are not mutually exclusive. Programmers have a saying, “Why reinvent the wheel?” Not all programmers can make game assets, programmers are a certain type of person and graphical artists are another. Sometimes a person can do both but usually not both well. All game developers use others work to varying degrees. Using a game engine for example relies heavily on others work/programming. If you want to be hardcore you could create an entire game from scratch with no engine/textures/models from others but that takes considerably longer. So much longer that not even AAA studios are willing to do it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if part of the problem right now is that they did a wave of mass accepts right at the end of Greenlight and we’re seeing the result of that.
