Manchidren boycotting and crying that this isn’t in third person really disappointment me. Personally in my opinion its a breath of fresh air with a lack of really great first person RPGs aside from Deus Ex, Vampire the Masquerade, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. I cant wait to finally play this awesome looking game. 🙂
Cutscenes will be 3rd person, car driving will be 3rd person. Everything else is 1st person. And here’s the kicker, the guy behind the Cyberpunk RPG was the one that really felt 1st person gave the right feel, so this wasn’t just a choice CD Projekt RED made on their own. People complaining about the game being a First Person game, have probably never heard of “level design” or “camera angles”
The first person view is the obvious choice for a cyberpunk universe, the sort of universe where you’ve got lots of very narrow spaces, small streets, closed quarters, restaurant shops and all.
If you never had any trouble with the camera in the Witcher 3, we clearly played a different game XD
I’m glad they chose the FPS view, not only will this give me the opportunity to “dive in” this universe up close and personal, but it also means i can focus more on the universe around me than on my own character.
Although, i understand people concerns, especially since there is a “cool” statistics on your character, and you’re supposed to customize his look as you see fit, i guess we’ll see him/her during dialogs and all.
Anyway, i really reaaaaaalllly hope they don’t do the mistake of trying to shove in a 3rd person view just to please the whiny part of their fanbase, they’ve got lots of work on the game itself, no need to add useless delay.
It’s always nice to see developers like EA, Activision and Ubisoft try new things- oh, another FIFA, CoD and Assassin’s Creed are out this year?

Some people will moan about anything. I really couldn’t care if its 1st or 3rd person as long as the game is good, and up to now it looks amazing
I’m curious about Jim’s opinion on the Warriors Orochi 4 that’s coming out.
Pretty sad that people think that unless it’s 3rd-person, it’s automatically bad.
It’s like Deus Ex has been updated to the modern way of video games. Which is good in some ways. Looking forward to it, as CDPR’s last game was great.

” in engine” doesnt mean game footage! It could be made in engine with 1/10 the speed and other tricks, not that is needed these days, but the in engine msg is useless these days…
