Not defending the game by any means, but I think you may have had a worse experience because of the settings you chose. Haven’t played the game myself, but I am guessing the very first slider determined how many squares of land the game will render. Since you slid it all the way down to 1, you only got 1 square of land. Seems to me that some of the reviews might have not been ironic, because if you put that slider to max, you potentially have a nice, relaxing but pointless little game where you fly around a big meadow as a bee and hey, some people might legit appreciate that simplicity.
That is just my guess anyway, I apologize if this had been pointed out many times over before my comment.
